Residential High-Rise Development Projects Taking off in Limassol


Limassol City Council has announced the planning and development of two further residential housing ventures: The Icon, is a 22 story development in the tourist area of Germasogeia and the Symbol, a 13 story development next to the beach and close to the city centre.

The Icon Construction work on the 22 story residential development is scheduled to start in late February, this month, which will provide 56 residences together with restaurant sports, leisure and lifestyle amenities including an outdoor tennis court, fitness and yoga club and an infinity swimming pool. Each of the apartments will include individual, hidden air conditioning units and fully under-floor heated tiles throughout. Concierge and reception services will be available on a 2 hour basis and other amenities such as room service, dry cleaning, housekeeping, and tailoring will all be provided onsite.

The projected completion date for the venture is December 2020. Ms Elena Batorina, a wealthy Russian oligarch has submitted plans to build an exclusive and sophisticated 13 story residential development of more than 8,000 square metres on the seafront and close to Limassol city centre. The plot of 4,800 square metres where the project will be constructed was acquired in November 2016. The Entrepreneur turned to a renowned Spanish Architect and his studio Taller de Arquitectura, to develop the structural and design plans.

Reported to be a project estimated to be around €40 million until completion, construction work on the Symbol project is scheduled to start in July this year. In addition to apartments, there will be facilities such as underground parking, a health and fitness state of the art zone, trendy recreational areas, a swimming pool and private gardens for each apartment.
