International & Private Schools in Cyprus: a Guide for 2019 Admissions
Full-time education is of course mandatory for all children in Cyprus between the ages of 5 and 15. Education in the Republic of Cyprus is managed by the Ministry of Education & Culture.
The system of public and accredited independent school run concurrently with each other. So parents on the island may choose between these two systems to educate their children with peace of mind that a high standard of teacher training is typical across the board.
State schools are widely available and include higher education, which are funded using taxes however university and private school fees are independently funded and cannot be covered by the state.
We have gathered a list of the most popular schools in each of the 6 districts or municipalities in Cyprus. Recently relocated or thinking of moving in future? There are international and English speaking schools in each major town or city.
Of course Nicosia, the Capital has a high concentration of renowned schools. With the island being so small there is also the option to arrange daily travel for students from neighbouring towns usually arranged by the school individually for an extra fee.
