Horse Riding in Cyprus: Eagle Mountain Ranch
An experience not to be missed when visiting Cyprus is Eagle Mountain Ranch in the serene countryside village of Mesogi, Paphos for a horse riding trip that is second-to-none in terms of both price, guide knowledge and overall experience compared to others on the island.
As long as you don’t mind being in the company of horses, the ranch caters to riders of all ages and skill levels. Ride on horseback through the olive groves and experience a truly unique feature of island life, with no cars and off the beaten path with a range of trekking packages.
Trekking allows you to enjoy the finest Cyprus wildlife and fauna. Without disturbing any creatures you can bird watch and allow the guides to inform you about Cyprus’ rich culture and history. The staff speak Russian, English and Greek and have a wealth of experience and animal knowledge to ensure all guests are sufficiently trained and catered to.
The trekking packages offered range from one hour excursions to 3 hour day-trips and also overnight camping is in offer when it’s in season. The best time of year to visit the ranch would be from March-June or October- December in order to avoid the summer sun. We would recommend spending an afternoon to enjoy not only the ranch but also the surrounding village.
Mesogi (Greek: Μεσόγη), Paphos
Mesogi village is located in the Paphos province, three kilometers north of Nicosia, on the main street of Paphos – Polis Chrysochous. The village is built on a slope with an upwards incline towards Paphos centre, with panoramic sea views. In the northeast of the village the altitude reaches 500 metres which makes for scenic photo opportunities.
What the village lacks in size is made up by the authenticity, and you will definitely find a typical Cyprus Tavern to enjoy some Cyprus favourites such as Sheftalia, Souvlaki and delicious meze-style dinners.
